The Apprentice
I really enjoy Thursday evenings. Mainly because there are two shows on TV that I really enjoy. One is Dragon's Den and the other is The Apprentice. Dragon's Den is a show were there are 5 Dragon's, business tycoons, who are looking to invest in startup businesses in exchange for a percentage of the business. Different people take it in turns to pitch their businesses to the Dragons in the hope at least one of them will invest in their company. Its a lot of fun because often there's only a few people who walk away with investments from the Dragons. Most people don't seem to have done their research into their own numbers or there's some flaw in their business that the Dragons pick up on. Its very informative.
The other program, The Apprentice, basically follows 16 candidates as they complete the tasks set before them by Lord Sugar. Lord Sugar is a business magnet who will invest in £250,000 into the winner's business. The team that loses in the task set by Lord Sugar will end up in the boardroom with him and his aids. Each week one person get fired by Lord Sugar because of their shortcomings in the task.
I usually end up knitting when watching these programs.
