Lady in Waiting
I think if I go back to the Farm tomorrow this lovely Gloucester Old Spot may well have farrowed. She looked very uncomfortable, very bored and very, very round!!
Been to work again today (supposed to be day off) but after work and, as there's light after 5pm(ish) at last, I decided to visit the Farm not far away here. There is always so much to see. The hens were ready for bed and all taking up their favourite roosting positions before being sent to their proper beds by the management and the sheep and lambs were all settled for the night. Its the law of sod isn't it: yesterday no blips at all and today so much choice and I even came across a large expanse of pond beside the main road which I hadn't seen before. I parked the car in a gateway and went to explore. The pond was a bit smelly but the wildlife didn't seem to mind atall and were enjoying the very natural and unspoilt surroundings so I crept about. There was one lone swan, plenty of coot, moorhen, mallard and even a couple of nesting Canadas, all cacooned by masses of bullrushes. it was a lovely sight so I shall return.
I'll also go back to the Farm to see if the Lady in Waiting has delivered!!
