Sebastião Salgado
Today Julie and I travelled to London by train. Our trip was smooth, although we soon realised we would be sharing London with thousands of families on their half term break!
We dumped our bags at the hotel and then took the bus to Hyde Park Corner and walked in Hyde Park. It was a cold, grey afternoon and even colder by the Serpentine.
Why do tourists feed the birds when the signs clearly and politely ask them not to?
The evening was just wonderful. We were at the Science Museum for a showing is Sebastião Salgado's Salt of the Earth on the IMAX screen. The enormous images were amazing. The detail in his photographs is mind blowing.
Sebastião, now 78, was there to introduce the film and then for a Q & A with Samira Ahmed afterwards. He can talk! Mesmerising to listen to his way of thinking about the world.
This was a night to remember.
The Wi-Fi is not working in my room. The staff think it is my iPad. Grr! Virgin are trying to fix it. I’m connected to the internet by my iPhone.
