Friends Go Bananas

31 years ago when we came to this little bit of paradise we had to take our dinghy out into Trincomali channel to make a phone call with the old brick phone (remember those,  it had a handle to carry the case the size of a large brick)  then when there was internet later and we had to hike  to a spot where we could pick up a signal from Saltspring Is. … so today, my first ever ZOOM from the table in the cabin seems quite remarkable!    S, my friend since 5th grade and N, from college (we all lived in the same place in Chicago after college) have been chatting like this just since the pandemic …it’s a big plus for this covid era!  and today tickled me because we each had a banana in hand.    Not great with reflections from N windows..(H stopped by, eating his cereal. )

Put an extra showing the island activity…The ramp at the boathouse at the end of the bay getting “fixed”, a barge on the other side of us at the BC Hydro dock with crane and cement block (no clue what was happening)   And H’s “fix” of drain Aqualina’s new trough after the old  one got washed away.  Note ice on it and also ice on our pond.  Freezing cold.   We’re out of here tomorrow.
