Buttons ..ancient and modern

This is a bit of an EB as I hadn’t taken any pictures today.

I drove over to see R at home and deliver her garments that have been altered, plus the seed potatoes for S. She was busy packing for a works trip and juggling a load of other jobs. 

On the way back there were 3 photo opportunities, which I wasn’t able to take advantage of, as I was driving and on my own. The first was the sun shining on the Cottam Power station building, the towers alongside were in the shade, all with a beautiful blue sky in the background. The second was the river Trent which has seriously flooded!! And finally a humongous agricultural vehicle waiting at a toll booth at Dunham on Trent which had a very long queue of vehicles behind it. I was pleased to be driving in the opposite direction!!

Now that R’s stuff has left my sewing room I’ve started the tidy up. I had some of the button boxes out looking for a set of buttons that she would like on her gown. It has made me realise that these boxes need a really good sort out!!!
