End of our oldest tree

Met an old work colleague for lunch today. Then, walking back through the park, I saw the demise of our Borough's oldest tree. It started growing in the 18th Century  and when John Soane started building his house in 1800 this was the only tree he kept from the original woodland.

I have known this tree since I was a child.

Went to football in the evening the extra just nice colours and balls (and we won)
