Rest and be Thankful

We had to go to Glasgow today for an appointment and the timing of it made it possible, in theory, for us to complete the trip in one day. With the recent windy weather there have been quite a few ferry sailings that have been cancelled and I knew from the forecast that the wind strength just might cause cancellations of our sailings, However, but fate smiled kindly on us and we had a successful journey there and back.
My photo shows the road over a hill pass called The Rest and be Thankful which is a lovely drive for us. However, it is also fraught with a bit of uncertainty as it is prone to landslides and often closed for periods of time over winter, especially after wet weather, but not today, thankfully!
