For Downton fans

This is Highclere Castle, known to many as Downton Abbey, which I visited today with a small group of friends from our village.
We had a lovely day, exploring the grounds before lunch, and wandering around the beautiful house in the afternoon.
Many of the rooms were recognisable! but some seemed smaller than in the series. The Library and the Saloon (the hall where they had the Christmas Tree) were magnificent. It was fun remembering scenes from the series as we visited the rooms!
We were fortunate to get our tickets, as Highclere Castle has restricted opening days, and all the tickets for the rest of 2013 are sold out!
