Safety in Numbers

Not sure why so many birds flocked to this particular wire. Nothing special round about like a pub or nice carvery just grey skies and drizzle.

However I was informed (probably wrongly) that small birds like this tend to flock together when a predator was on the hunt. We do often see hawks or kestrels about but never seen their prey assemble like this.

Perhaps this line up was so that the predator's could see what was on today's menu.
