A Captain and His New First Mate?

Homer the heron wanted his voice to be heard.

HOMER: "How about me being your first mate?"

CAPTAIN: "Why would I do that?"

HOMER: 1. I will work for bait, and I don't need a plate."
2. "One of my great traits is that I don't hate."
3. I add practically nothing to the boat weight."

CAPTAIN: "Is that it? Is that all you can contribute?"

HOMER: "No, I can acclimate, I don't confiscate, I can motivate, I will not alienate or discriminate, I do not intoxicate or manipulate, I do not procrastinate, and most importantly...I do not regurgitate.

It looks like the captain is thinking it over.
