Candlelit Monk
Today we relaxed a bit and started to get organised. We want to make the most of our last few days here in Nepal so we will need to be on the ball...
I managed to have noodles at my favourite noodle place, and while doing so noticed a lot of people in smart clothes, many of them with red ribbons tied around their necks. Something was up! So I traced back along the tide of ribbon wearers to a monastery that had a mega lama doing blessings. There were loads of people there and it was good for photos, though the ones I really wanted alluded me :-/
The Mrs and I got blessed by the main man who seemed to be very old and calm, though slightly taken aback to see us turn up to be tapped on the head with his stick...!
After this we did some shopping, had some dinner and then walked around the stupa. Today is auspicious so there were many candles lit all over the place. Here you can see a monk lighting one to add to the lovely effect.
We are going to miss the stupa a lot....
