Botanical Gardens

Those of you who know Madeira will recognise my version of the iconic Botanic Gardens photo. 

My plan for today was to go out on a boat to the Garajau Marine Reserve, but it was too windy for such a venture. I decided instead to take the number 29 bus and wander among these fabulous plants.

It was relatively quiet and I had a lovely hour up there (treating myself to a passion fruit cheesecake and generally relaxing in the warm but blustery sunshine.

When I approached the Marina early on, I spotted the magnificent cruise ship, the Seabourn Encore. She is the wonderful vessel I sailed on way back in November 2019, before all this Covid. My memories came flooding back : the Creek in Dubai, Borobudur, Phuket, Ubud in Bali, Singapore……. I may well flick back to my blips from those days which seem so far away in a different existence.

I managed to get the ship in my photo too - the best of both worlds.
