Garden tools

25 years ago I said to Dr D , "Think we need a tractor with a crowd action loader." I'm sure you can imagine his uncontainable excitement which was only increased when I went on to suggest we also needed a tip truck!
Our garden is 2 and a half acres and many tasks involve either many many wheelbarrow loads and many many spadefuls ....or the above-,mentioned equipment. We are badly missing our garden helper Adie and the drought is adding to the long list of things to do to restore order and health and readiness for Autumn .
In a large corner of the garden by our mailbox is a big area of acanthus mollis which handsomely gleams with emerald green until this time of year when it needs a major cutback to be refreshed by (one day I hope) autumn rains. Another huge job for these two ancient ones, so Dr D suggested attacking the problem with the front end loader and it worked a veritable miracle! He worked at it till all was reduced to a smooth tilthe and ready for grass seed and a portion of replanting. The extra shows the "before".
