All fall down
Yesterday was a fairly shitty day, both in weather terms and in family terms, so no posting here. Family news revolved around the news that my 91-year-old mother has probably made her last trip from her house and is currently in hospital in Ireland; I can't get across for a few days for {reasons}. I hope I'll be across in time, but at least she's warm, comfortable and has friends visiting, with our dysfunctional clan gathering one-by-one from this evening. Work is very understanding and our friends and neighbours will keep an eye on H while I'm away.
The local excitement was that the under-promoted Storm Franklin rocked up last night and dropped trees on two of the three roads out of the village; the only road apparently unaffected is the one you don't want to have to use unless there really is no alternative, because it doesn't take you anywhere you want to be. The main picture shows local farmer K and daughter Z finally removing the primary obstruction at lunchtime.
