Morning coffee and a cake..

Before bed last night the power went off again and then on, well at least for some.  We had power my neighbour did not…which resulted in a late visit to ask what was going on.   Ten minutes later and our power was gone as well, everywhere was in darkness with 5000 homes impacted.  We went to bed not really knowing if it would be back in the morning, I was kicking myself as I had brought a few things for the freezer. 
 
During the night the power came back on which was good but still no sign of the Internet.  I filled up the bird feeders and got logged in for work.  It felt like it was going to be a long slow day working on mobile phone Internet but it did well and I was able to get quite a bit of work done.
 
This evening the power company brought in a big generator to power the care home and some of the houses near it, I also heard that others in the village got their power back today so slowly things seem to be getting better.  We did think that maybe our Internet would come back with the power but it seems not.  It will be another day of working off a mobile signal tomorrow.  Lots of different reports of when the Internet will be back but we will get in touch with our provider tomorrow and see what is going on.
 
We had a yellow warning again today but did not notice too many problems.  Hopefully that will be the last for a while and things will get a bit more back to normal before long.
 
Dinner was a few more things from the freezer, I think that will be the last we can eat but we have done very well. 
 
I made the little cake in my blip yesterday while we had some power, I just had a fancy for something nice today.  I quite like the idea of doing some of the fancy icing and might get a few bits and give it a go.  I will have to wait until the Internet is back so that I can watch a few videos on how to do it.
