A trip to York on a hunt for a hat for Matthew and Mary’s forthcoming wedding. Mission successful - glad of friend Nicky’s support and advice. 

As we came over Lendal bridge the height of the pleasure boats caught my eye. The water that fell in the Dales yesterday is making its way down the River Ouse.currently 4.5metres above normal. Kings Staithes was underwater as usual but everyone is hoping that the danger level of 5 metres is not reached. Richard used to work in the Guildhall just behind the boats. My Dad also used to work at the Yorkshire Evening press along the river front but the company relocated many years ago.

Thank you for the concern regarding the sign incident. It was interesting to note how many people have had similar experiences.
