Waves on the Rocks

A much brighter day. We crossed the Tamar and headed down to Portwrinkle. I thought there might have been more fallen and broken trees, particularly along the wooded slopes beside the tributaries of the Lynher River between Polbathic and Crafthole. This area though seemed to have been sheltered from the prevailing winds and looked relatively unscathed. 
I had also expected to see more people at Portrinkle as the sun was shining and it was half term. The parking area though was almost deserted, despite the fact that it only costs 10p to park here for an hour and 50p for the whole day, at this time of year. Possibly the best value parking in Cornwall!
Walking along the beach and the low cliffs between Finnygook beach and the old harbour was exhilarating in the strong winds, with the constant crashing of the waves on the jagged rocks. Surfing in these conditions seemed unwise, but we saw one person out a long way in the sea. Although the waves were big, they were not ideal for surfing and in my view did not support the risk of going out in these conditions.
