Modeller's treasure trove

A lovely afternoon and we set out for Caldbeck for lunch. All the cafes in Caldbeck were closed, so we ended up at Mea's Tea Rooms in nearby Uldale, where we had a blipmeet a few years ago. Excellent place.

Then we returned to Caldbeck and had a wander around Whelpo, the little hamlet just outside Caldbeck where we used to stay when our children were young.

At last we arrived in Wigton, which was the whole point of our trip out. There we found the wonderful Jackson's Model Shop. We talked to the owner and she told us how she set up the business 15 years ago in her front room and now she has a recently expanded shop and employs four people. One room is packed with models, the other with railway stuff. We were there to buy a present for a granddaughter, but I persuaded Gordon to get a kit for himself. He remembers spending a lot of time on model kits when he was young, so I think he might enjoy trying it again.
