James and his stones, Holy Island

We got the boys off the devices eventually and drove up to Holy Island. They loved when the car went splashing through the receding sea. The car park was filling up, it being half term, and droves of people were heading along to the castle. We joined the throng then went to the lime kilns which I knew they’d love. They spent ages hiding and running around in them, then I took them over to the beach where they added to some of the stone “sculptures”. I liked the shot of James with the impending squall heading our way. It was very windy.

On our return Mr C took them up in the woods for half an hour so that I could get the meal started. James is back on the iPad and Thomas has got Monopoly set up so I have to go!
