St. Joseph
Finally the sun came out on Le Puy. Well, for an hour or so. After a croissant breakfast, we made the hour long walk (should have been 30 minutes but my mum is incapable of walking quickly!) to the St.Joseph statue in Espaly which I had never been to visit. The statue itself wasn't all that interesting but it was worth the walk for the incredible view out across Le Puy. Got talking to the woman in the shop who THOUGHT I WAS FRENCH. Yes, the incredible moment when someone actually thinks I'm French and that I just speak English well... didn't want to tell her the truth, why break the illusion.
Stopped to buy cakes on the way home and spent the evening making gratin - which actually ended up being potatoes floating in milk - and chatting to Karine & Delphine who came over to eat.
Tried to get an early night as it's back to work tomorrow but the feeling of being on holiday, and worries of joblessness wouldn't allow me to sleep. My 8am will be fun tomorrow!
