One of my favourite flowers still opening to reveal its full beauty.

Thank you for the comments, stars and heart for yesterday’s blip of my favourite swimming spot.

The Winter Olympics in Beijing came to a close early hours of this morning NZ time.
During these games New Zealander Zoi Sadowski-Synnott became the first Kiwi in NZ history to win a gold medal since the country first competed at the Winter Olympics in 1952 in Oslo, Norway.
Forty years later, in 1992 at the Albertville Games in France, alpine skier Annalise Coberger won NZ’s first medal when she placed second in the women’s slalom.
Thirteen days after Zoi won her medals, Nico Porteous, a fellow teammate from Wanaka, stood on the top of the podium to receive his well deserved gold medal.
