"100" In Loving Memory of Steve

Today I dedicate my "100" blip photo to my wonderful brother Steve, who passed away one year ago today.
Steve was a handsome, loving, caring brother, husband, father and grandfather, and friend to all, who showed us all strength and courage during the almost 4 years battling leukemia.
It was because of Steve that my interest in photography grew. As he spent months at a time in the hospital, I felt so bad that I could not make it better for him. That first year of his illness, he was hospitalized during the fall, one of his favorite times of the year. He longed to see the beautiful colors of the New England foliage. It was then I decided there was something I could do, I could bring the fall foliage to him. With camera in hand, my husband & I set out to take pictures of all the beauty of the colors I could find. We went to the countryside, the mountains and the ocean. Steve was very happy to experience the fall season, even if it was from his hospital bed.
From that point on, I would focus on what photo Steve would appreciate, during his many days in the hospital.
Steve was my hero. His gentle, loving ways touched all who knew him. He had a zest for life, and lived it with dignity and style.
So, here's to you, Steve. You are missed and loved by all of your family.
