Fading light and aconites
W. and I drove to Waterford today to walk through the meadows along Catoctin Creek. It was nice out - brisk and clear and a bit chilly - and mucky along the trail. Every time I go to Waterford I wonder why I don't go more often. It's a little off the beaten path, but fun to wander through the mix of early 18th and 19th century houses. The meadows are part of an old farm and now make a happy place for birds and deer. We were observed by several of the latter (extra) and later, driving home up our hill, stopped to let several more cross in front of us.
Main is from the edge of a garden as we walked back to the car. First blooms I've seen!
