What do you do during the worst storm this century

Have a dinner party, who could possibly go wrong?
Friends had come back from a very extended holiday in Spain (3 months) to find they had no heating and needed boiler bits that will take weeks to come. They are cold so we invited them round for a meal and de-frost. This was done a week or so ago before we had even heard of an Explosive Cyclogenesis.
The menu for the meal had to be changed to accommodate possible power cuts, electric oven but gas hob means we had options. Camping lanterns and candles had to be dug out and sorted and log burners fired up early to ensure enough heat.
As it happens we had no power cuts and the meal was fine, lots of chatter as there was a few months of gossip  news to tell. Whilst two people enjoyed the warmth the rest of us sweltered, jumpers being removed very quickly.
Our guests have now gone but have texted to say they got back home safely despite Eunice
