Stove Repairs
I spent most of the morning filling up cracks and gaps in my stove's firebox. This is a tricky and messy job. I had the LED torch suspended on a coat hanger and had to use the mirror much of the time. Now it has to be left for two to four days for the fire clay to dry. I'm going to miss my fire. It would have been better if I'd done it in the summer, but one thing I'm really good at is procrastination.
We had the first frost of the year this morning. We've been lucky. Usually the first frost is in March, or even February. One year I lost all my summer squash to a frost in January. Today was bright and sunny, the opposite of yesterday.
