The beast is on the move!
In spite of the wild weather the gunnera is waking up! It has spent the winter asleep, covered up under a soggy heap of its own leaves - laboriously and scratchily hacked off by me sometime in October. And now little leaves are starting to unfold and a proud flower has popped out of the sogginess. It will burst forth, get shrivelled by a late frost then leap up again reaching a good 3m in height! Gardener's World here describes how to grow the beast - if only you could halt it! Nothing kills it! It was my first blip! An violets are starting to appear.
Other than that, Eunice has subsided though it remains blustery, and Himself brought hot cross buns, freshly made in the local post office! Mmmmmm.
