Solitary swan
I went back to my river to check on the solitary swan I'd seen in the past few days. It was still there, on the part of the river that seems almost a lake. It was feeding on greenery on the river bed, not disturbed at all by people that passed by, or the quacking ducks with which it shared the river. I don't know what its story is, did it get lost? Is it hurt? Did it loose its partner? Did it just want to spend some quality time on its own? Is it the one and only ugly duckling that became a swan? Who knows! Fact is that although I haven't seen a swan before on my river, there are some in the vicinity, both on the bigger river a few km to the east and on a small lake in a park in Bergamo. Maybe this one will go looking for company when it has enjoyed the solitude for a while.
