The 12:40 LNER service to Aberdeen, departing from Newcastle Central Station, as seen from the top of Newcastle castle. The Castle is a medieval fortification that is built on the site of the fortress that gave the City of Newcastle its name. The builders of the castle were clearly very forward-thinking in choosing a site so close to an excellent transport link ;-)
