The Intricate Wonder of a Flower

Sunny but very windy, high of 49 deg F with low of 29 deg F forecast. Millie woke me up again, this time at 6:45 am which meant I had about four hours of sleep. Between that and all my garden work yesterday, I’m beat. We changed linens, did laundry, and hubby finished typing the minutes from his Knights’ meeting. We had gusts up to 50 mph and the gale warnings have been extended until tomorrow night. With such winds, there was no going outside in search of a blip. I noticed the carnations in the Valentine’s bouquet still looked fresh. With a little help from a kitchen towel, I think the white blooms stand out fine. Our DIL sent leftovers ( crab stuffed lobster, NY strip and sides) so we had a wonderful lunch and no need for dinner. Hubby shopped for my mother and him, picked up meds for her and me and delivered everything to her home. He is also checking on a mysterious piece of metal she said that appeared by the our RV during the storm. We’d prefer she stay inside out of the wind but she wanted to retrieve a good bucket that blew in the neighbor’s yard before she lost it. Today is the first time I have had no need to leave home in awhile so I am enjoying it. Was planning to iron but these old knees say no way. It’s time for another weekend folks. Hope you have plans for a pleasant one. We had 110 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours - almost four times more than yesterday. We got word that masks will be optional in the private schools starting on Tuesday, after the grands’ four day weekend. Yahoo! The public schools may follow suit soon. Thanks for dropping by. Stay safe. “Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.” - E.B. White
