The Young and The Restless

The Young is this Juvenile Eagle we met at The Boat Landing early this afternoon. Perhaps 1-2 years old? The recent warmer temps and rain opened up a large area of water along the river’s edge where gulls, mallards and mergansers had gathered. Then, this big guy landed on the ice, much to all of our surprises. We braced ourselves for a duck capture but thankfully nothing happened. MrsP and I were thrilled to see him up close for at least five minutes before he flew upriver. His wingspan was most impressive • The Restless was us this morning. We needed a change of scenery so off we went to visit several places along the river. Unfortunately we weren’t able to venture too far from the car because of the icy conditions. It was a windy but sunny day with temperatures dropping to more February-like levels • Ironically the place closest to home, and the last we visited, was the busiest and most interesting of all :) • Happy Weekend Wishes to you!
