Bye-bye Eunice

It was eerily quiet when I took the hound in the garden last night. Definitely felt the calm before the storm.  Read until 1am, completely lost track of time. 
It was sunny this morning and the wind was picking up. Social media broadcast that the market is closed today for public safety.  Didn't fancy a cycle ride today. Read until lunch when I made a vegetable soup.  Read a bit more and took hound for a short walk.  Generally he doesn't like the wind but was fine even when a gust nearly had us reversing. 
Lots of thin, twiggy silver birch branches on the ground and a already dodgy plank from next door's adjoining fence has come away but thankfully nothing serious has happened.  Now to finish my book and choose next one.
Blip is sunset tonight, wind forecast to slow down.
