Poppy

California poppy flowering in the new planting at the Community Centre. 

Fetched salad makings and vegetables, then made a ginger fruit cake. All the sweetening was treacle; next time I make that recipe it will have slightly different proportions. Did more book donation and pricing, then made chocolate frosting for the cake - that came out better than expected, though it only just cooled and thickened enough to spread before the guests arrived. 
Short walk with the friends who were the audience for cheese, salad and cake, and sent them off with things they will appreciate.
