No 25 at Rolvenden

First turn on the railway for the new season at Wittersham Road signalbox.. A very limited service with just two round trips. We were finished by 3.00pm. Trains were pretty well loaded which was good to see. Everything worked well which is what we all like.

No. 25 worked at various Army locations before coming to KESR in 1977. It initially remained Army property, but the Ministry of Defence sold it to a small group of members in October 1979. Another ‘low mileage’ model, it entered service in 1981 in a lined blue livery similar to the K&ESR livery used in Colonel Stephens’ days.

There was time for a quick walk before Barbara and David arrived after their long drive from Edinburgh. They’re with us for a visit mainly to see Doreen.

Susan is feeling a little better today although her cough sounds like she’s been on 40 Woodbines a day for several decades.

All battened down for Eunice. Hope we all escape with no damage.
