An MRI scan today revealed that the problem appears to be a bacterial infection inside his lumbar vertebrae and not a chipped vertebrae as initially indicated by an x-ray. In 2 weeks or so blood test results will show what type of bacteria it is and hence how treatable it is.

Looked around Castle Donnington whilst waiting for Felix and stumbled across this wonderful 13th century church, steeped in artefacts and the warmest hosting from the church wardens / cleaning gang .
