After a night of high winds and little sleep - I woke thinking it was morning as the moon at 12.45 am was so bright, and was still awake after 5 - we were on the road by 8 am. We decided to leave early in case we had some detours due to the high winds, but in fact it took us only 1.5 hours to reach the Edinburgh by-pass where we had no hold ups. We were able to park at Modern 2 which was a bonus.

The exhibition did not disappoint - thanks to blippers for the recommendations - we could have stayed longer but the rooms began to fill up with families. Everyone wore masks but it did get a bit too busy. (we hadn’t realised it was Scottish half term.)It was interesting to see Dore’s influence on his drawings. The whole exhibition was well done, with lots of information about his process.

We took the Queensferry Crossing to Fife where we visited my oldest friend who gave us a delicious lunch before she and I walked part of the coastal path. It was sunny and bright with clear views to Arthur’s Seat. We had a chance to catch up - her husband is in a care home with Alzheimer’s. His deteriorating condition is very distressing.

We are now crawling along the by-pass, hoping to be home before the expected snow.
