Memorials

These memorials are at the local place I usually don't visit. Mostly, because I think the one in the background, the tower like thing, is quite ugly. It is a war memorial for the "heroes" of WWI.

The one in the front, with the big cross, is more recent. Actually I never knew about it. Our village grew a lot after WWII due to displaced persons, Germans, who after 1945 had to leave (the eastern areas of the German Reich and) the German settlement areas outside the Reich borders of 1937. A street is called after this area, as is the memorial. The memorial was built in the mid-50s.
