The name of this woodpecker is confusing to some because with his beautiful red head you’d think he would be a Redheaded Woodpecker, but you would be wrong! The angle of this photo reveals his reddish tummy, thus, a Red-bellied Woodpecker is correct. They surely do love their suet • Groceries done and river visited. Nothing exciting to report on either • I made a soup this afternoon since we haven’t had one in a while. A faux-chicken and vegetable. It will be yummy with crackers tonight • The dear deer haven’t visited in two nights and we think it’s because of the icy conditions in our yard. A warmup is on the way tomorrow with rain before it cools down again. It’s been such a weird and wacky winter so far: WWW!
