The very tentative delicate-cycle no-spin treatment last week had very little effect on most of the muck on the curtain, so we tried the card-op facility at the nearby garage after learning that someone nearby had successfully used it last week when their own washing machine packed in. It's not removed everything, but at least managed to wash and both curtains at once in less than an hour and spin them without ripping itself out from under the worktop.
