Waiting for Dudley

To say it has been changeable today is a bit of an understatement. It wasn’t too bad when I had a short walk walk before starting work this morning.  This is my “local place” for Wide Wednesday - just five minutes from the house. The work on replacing the boardwalk in the pond is progressing apace and I’m sure it will be great once finished and the wood will weather to blend in a bit more. The birds will be relieved when the water is returned to the pond too and they can spread out more. Behind where I stood to take this photo the rugby pitches were pretty well occupied by all the visiting redwings.

A lunch time it seemed quite pleasant when I went  out at first, but rapidly changed and I was absolutely soaked by the time I returned. Then later, as I was making my cup of tea, the sun was shining brightly and all was calm. However, not long after that there was a horizontal shower.  I can now hear the wind howling in the chimney.

Storm Dudley is flexing his muscles. Let’s hope he goes away quickly.
