Weed
I attended a lecture this morning entitled "Dust, Dirt and Dung: London 1660-1830". It was much more interesting than you might imagine ;-)
The lecturer said that DD&D are just "matter in the wrong place". Examples of matter in the right place include coal dust as an essential ingredient for early bricks, while the capital's market gardens couldn't have managed without horse manure.
It reminded me of David Attenborough saying that weeds were plants in the wrong place, but really we should think of them as brave pioneers. So I gave you a brave little weed.
