Erosion

The giant puffball is now about two months old. They don’t usually last this long, but I think that the deep cracks in the skin eased the pressure so that it didn’t need to explode. It has been quietly releasing spore for several weeks now. Recent rain has cut canyons into the cracks.

A new puffball has appeared nearby.  It is only 8cm across at present. (See extra shot). The other is 20cm across.
