A snow day so there was lots of activity around the bird feeders. This northern flicker was having breakfast of bird pie, and he did not like the starling disturbing him. The starling was forced to wait.
Later the flicker came back and snacked on some peanuts, much to the dismay of the blue jays.
This afternoon I saw the flicker in the birch tree, and a second one came and landed beside the first one. I have seen a flicker in my yard since 2016 and this is the first time I have seen two of them at the same time. Unfortunately the second one did not stay long enough to get his/her photo taken.
I had 9 different varieties of birds in the yard today.
