Where are the children?

I thought Calke Abbey was one of the best NT properties I have been to. The family shrank and shrank into itself. Only part of the house was lived in and we saw these beautiful cluttered rooms in all their glory while others were shut up and these too we saw just as the NT found them. Clustered in a corner were these little chairs, very evocative as the children were long gone.
