What struck my fancy

Burgh Island

is accessible on land at low tide but is cut off when the tide comes in. The islanders though have this rather stylish carriage to secure access when the sand is covered.

The extra shows an old bridge near the tiny hamlet of Postbridge in Devon. The bridge is known as a clapper bridge, I can't find the derivation of the name sadly. It is thought to date from the 1300s or earlier.
