A very British staycation!

Today we said goodbye to a very worried looking Peggy Sue and set out on the first leg of our family Half Term holiday. Peggy Sue will be fine as she will be receiving care in the comfort of her own home. We, on the other hand, had a less than pleasant journey down to Southampton in driving rain and gusting winds. Our small convoy of two cars, driven by Mr MC and daughter #2, each experienced brief moments of aquaplaning. We have reached Southampton  safely, settled into our Premier Inn Hotel and are enjoying dinner at a local pub restaurant as the rain continues.  Never mind: the weather is set fair for tomorrow when we set out for the Isle of Wight!
