The Red Band
The Red Band, which includes card-carrying members of the Communist party in the membership, played outside Mountain Warehouse today. On the other corner of Kendrick Street the anti-vaxxers had their usual "Stroud Community Hug" info stall. The latter group distributes a free newspaper called The Light, which has been described as promoting Anti-Semitism. My feeling is that this musical performance was part of a stand-off today. I could not linger because I had only nipped out to get change (as it happens , the building society was closed. I guess that is part of the new normal).
I wanted to take a photo of a young woman holding up a placard opposing the Light Newspaper, but she was suspicious. Maybe she's had trouble with the press in the past. It wasn't worth explaining that my blog only has a few dozen viewers, so I continued down the street.
We both had a busy day in the market but were completely shattered, kept falling asleep all evening. I honestly think I preferred the market when only ten customers were allowed in at once! Not so good for sales, though...
GG and I may go on holiday in April. I'm looking into destinations, and feeling incredibly excited about the possibility of travelling again.
