Old treasure!

Today whilst sorting out bedroom for my Grandson’s visit, I came across this jewellery box. It was a present to me on my 8th birthday from my Grandfather, who was 80 yrs old in the same year! He felt that this called for a ‘special present’ and it has been with me ever since! It is interesting that there is a green ‘Monitor’ badge still in it. This was from my Primary school days and, if I remember correctly, it was for being ‘Milk Monitor’. I seem to remember that this involved bringing in a crate of little bottles of milk, along with another equally important milk monitor. I think we then handed them to each child, along with a straw. Such a responsibility!!
