WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Roses

Roses are Red

Roses are red
Peas are green
Curries are spicy
I love your cuisine

When I met you
I was onto a winner
I love you because
You cook my dinner

Boom Boom!

I’ve been on a roller today with the poems.
The above is just a ditty for Frank.

The main one is about the endless rain.

44/365
February

When I went to sleep last night
It was to the sound of heavy rain
When I awoke this morning
I heard it trickling down the drain
It would be so easy to despair
As it hasn’t stopped all week
But I suppose it’s only February
This month is meant to be bleak
So best keep occupied indoors
And I have plenty to do
But if only the sun above the cloud
Would now and then shine through.

It’s been a day for staying in, reading, writing and sorting out the dining table where there was no room to dine because of all my stuff!
Now it only has the vase of roses from in the middle. The vase is the one I bought my Mum in about 1972 from George Henry Lees in Liverpool.
She had decorated the living room in purple and teal. She was always a trend setter. I didn’t realise at the time that the vase was made by an Dutch pottery called Lila Flora - Holland. They are now collectors items. It’s very in vogue just now with all the mid century decor.

I fell asleep reading this afternoon, Frank didn’t wake me up so it was 5.40 when I dragged myself of the sofa!

Hope your weekends have been pleasant. I know one or two Blippers are going through difficult times and I send love your way.

Goodnight :-) X
