Blackbird and apple
We had a massive crop of apples on our two trees in the Autumn. We gave a lot away, but there were still far more than we could eat before they went past their best. But with the blackbirds, nothing is wasted, they seem to prefer them to be over-ripe, they are probably more sugary and maybe there's even been a little fermentation.
It was another wet day, as the raindrops on the apple and the blackbird show. We went to Kirby Lonsdale in the morning on a quick mission, and when that was complete had an excellent coffee. Then back home, ahead of Gus's second favourite human coming for lunch. And Gus did not carry out one of his indiscretions when we were away, that's a result.
C made a very good fish pie, and Sue brought a small box of handmade and very unusual chocolates with 12 different flavours. All gone!
