Cooper's Hawk

   I rode out to the Fern Ridge Reservoir again today (see blip 2/8/22).  I hoped to ride all the way across on the old Royal Avenue roadbed.  I was stopped by the Long Tom River but enjoyed the ride very much. 
It made me think of the drowned towns in western Massachusetts near to where we once lived in East Hampton.  
The Quabbin is an oasis of unchanged forest in Massachusetts.

A hawk surveying its domain from a lamp over the bikeway attracted my attention.
I stopped my bike to watch and soon several other people were ogling this beautiful bird.
Before too long the hawk grew weary of the gawkers... I was ready when my blip finally happened.
